New British Prime Minister Boris Johnson makes a barn-burner of a speech in front of 10 Downing St on his first day on the job, rallying Britons to believe in the country and says the government must win back the trust of the UK electorate.

Mr. Johnson also vowed to deliver Brexit — ‘Deal’ or ‘No Deal’ — in the 99-days left before the official Brexit date of October 31, 2019 which will please millions of Brexiteers to no end, plus it will please millions of people who voted ‘Remain’ in the 2016 EU referendum but who respect the democratic result and want 3-years of economic uncertainty to end.

The new PM touched on a wide range of issues that are important to his new government and to the country in his 11-minute speech.

While the new occupant of 10 Downing St has a number of cabinet positions to fill and other things to attend to in the coming days and weeks, he has inspired confidence from his first hour on the job with his obvious ‘can-do’ spirit.

I wish him the very best in his new role.

Theresa May: Leaving 10 Downing St speech

“Theresa May delivered her final speech as prime minister on Wednesday, before leaving Downing Street for Buckingham Palace to submit her resignation to the Queen. May used the speech to restate her opposition to a no-deal Brexit, saying Brexit must work for the whole of the UK.”The Guardian

Although she couldn’t deliver Brexit, Theresa May worked tirelessly to build a better Britain, and far from being ‘a bloody difficult woman’ we came to know her as the UK’s most skilled bureaucrat and a classy operator on behalf of the United Kingdom.

Thank you for serving the people of the United Kingdom to the very best of your ability, Theresa May.

Never mind my opinion of this development (as if you couldn’t guess from the title) here is Boris Johnson’s acceptance speech which comes to us courtesy of The Telegraph — one of the jewels of British media which has been publishing since 1855.

“Boris Johnson begins to assemble his Cabinet after landslide victory, as he vows to energise the country” — The Telegraph
